This is our day – to celebrate not only the serious role we play in the family but also the chaotic, funny, and sometimes straight-out-of-a-movie moments that come with the “dad” title.

I’m Kaspars, a dad of two and the founder of Gege, and I want to share my fatherhood experience. Because the truth is, dads aren’t just a “helping hand” – we’re clowns, coaches, psychologists, and sometimes full-on crisis managers.

  • Specialization: Creating laughter and managing chaos.

  • Experience: Two kids, countless sleepless nights, and at least one Lego underfoot every week.

  • Skills: Finding a lost toy in five minutes, turning dinner into a competition, and occasionally ruining mom’s perfect plans.

But if I had to expand it further…

  • Multitasking master: I can hold a kid in one arm, answer emails with the other, and close the fridge with my foot.

  • Official night comforter: Yes, at 3 a.m. the kids want only dad – though by morning, they don’t even remember who came for cuddles.

  • Home sports coach: “Who can run to the door first?” is my fastest way to tire them out before bedtime.

  • Lost-and-found expert: I’ve discovered toys in the most unexpected places – from the washing machine to inside a pasta bag.

  • Crisis manager: Staying calm when the kid paints the wall with ketchup or decides, out of nowhere, “I’m moving into the closet now.”

Why kids need dads

We bring playfulness and a touch of chaos. If mom often represents order and structure, dads are the “plot twist.” And there’s real value in that – kids learn from us that life isn’t perfect, and it doesn’t have to be.

Put a diaper on backwards? That becomes a family story. Spill juice all over the floor? That’s now a sporting event: “who can clean it up faster.” What kids really gain is the ability to laugh at mistakes instead of treating them like disasters.

The Filter Free Parenting Dad Code

Gege was born from the belief that parents don’t have to be perfect. And dads are the best proof of that – we mess up, improvise, and proudly admit: “I don’t know how this works, but let’s figure it out together.”

And that’s our biggest contribution to our kids – teaching them to live with humor, lightness, and love.

Happy Father’s Day to all dads!

May you get at least one hot coffee, one uninterrupted conversation, and a whole lot of hugs from your little chaos-creators today.
